Welcome
The FOF would like to thank EVERYONE for all the support, donations, and time they spent helping make us a valuable organization for the Lexington Community.
02/01/2012:
February marks a somber anniversary for Lexington Firefighters. It was
during this month in 1997 and 2004 that they lost two of their finest in the
line of duty. Firefighter Chuck Williams, died while fighting a fire on the
south side of Lexington. Only 29 years old, Chuck was a 2nd generation
firefighter for Lexington. Lieutenant Brenda Cowan died while responding to
an EMS call in 2004. She died from a gunshot wound. She was the first
female firefighter to die in the line of duty.
The Lexington Fraternal Order
of Firefighters endeavors to insure that the loss of these lives and others
who have gone before them:
(Chief Louis Travis - 1944, Henry McDonald - 1945,
Captain JC Moynahan-1950, Lieutenant Estill Rickerson - 1971,Firefighter
Robert Martin - 1986,)
will never be forgotten. A wreath will be placed at
the base of the Monument throughout the week of February 13th as a
remembrance of both their service and sacrifice.
