About Your FOF
The Fraternal Order of Firefighters was established on November 13th, 1962 to promote brotherhood among the men and women of the Lexington Fire Department, and to act as a public service organization. Shortly thereafter, the FOF, partnering with many businesses (both corporate and private) along with the general public, collect and purchase new toys to be given to families in Fayette County.
The FOF is a separate non-profit organization from the LFUCG, Lexington Fire Department, and IAFF Local #526. Each year in January, we elect officers to sit on the Board of Directors. All positions are non-paid positions and are strictly voluntary. All sworn personnel of the Lexington Fire Department automatically become members of this organization.
Each year the FOF holds numerous events to help raise money for our signature program – the Firefighter Toy Program. Each year beginning in November we start accepting toys for boys and girls. We then distribute the toys in the middle of December to Fayette County residents. There’s no way we could continue to have the success that we have had without the support of the community that we serve.
